The attempt in this book is to demonstrate as wide a range of important events and behaviour of society. This presents a much clearer focus of the people and the land, in this case through things, places, faces and buildings of Lahore. The more one contributes to understanding the micro aspects of life in Lahore, the better do we understand the macro trends that brought about change. The number of glimpses can be endless, so the attempt here is to present almost 100 descriptions of people past, of events that changed life in Lahore as well as an attempt to put into context the scientifically reliable past in terms of geography, history and of the contribution of events that brought about change in the way people behave. In books past over 500 such descriptions have been narrated. Now now that list has grown to 600 plus. One hopes all the glimpses are enjoyed in the context in which they occurred.
