About the Author:
Salman Rashid is Pakistani preeminent travel writer and a Fellow of Royal Geographical Society. I must say if someone wants to know a true picture of it's culture, heritage and most importantly about truth which is instinct now. I have read this book 2 times and wonder how Mr. Salman Rashid give every necessary detail about each monument, and how much hard work it takes while just visiting these places. This would be one of his best writes. May God bless him with health.

Excellent publications, in fact there is a need for more such publications to orient readers both domestic and outsiders, about the beautiful sights and places the country has to offer. please have more of these published on other topics and areas as well. the best thing is that they are very reasonably priced as well
An excellent book. A few maps could be added
Very informative and based on good research. An excellent book for people who are interested in cultural heritage and history of this very famous and perhaps most travelled highway in this part of country. Photography by author is breath taking. The blackcolored text with a little upsize font would have been better particularly for senior citizens.
I have waited a long time for some one to write about this historic Rd. The pictures and narrative are spot on and the book is now being read by my entire family. Great work, beautifully published.

I belong to a village situated on the Grand Trunk Road and am a frequent traveler between Lahore & Islamabad. While traveling I have seen many of the historical monuments/buildings of the Mughal & Colonial eras but never know their history. Thanks to the author (Mr. Salman Rashid) for updating my knowledge with fantastic narration. A must-read for every history lover.

I bought it as a gift coffee table book for my brother in law and he loved it.
It's a beautiful book with great photographs but who ever selected the typeface has no design or user friendly notions. It is such a fine print that even with reading glasses its a strain and with the glossy paper reflecting light its just head aching to sit down and read. So yes...knowledge of design can be a make or break. Something the author and publisher might keep in mind for second runs.
Lot of important archaeological heritage skiped specially in Islamabad. Author focused on monumental structures but overlooked historical value of site in the location .
Salman Rashid is an inspiration. Proud to have purchased his books for my children living abroad

Contents of the book are excellent.
However I wish the printing was in bold letters if larger font was not possible. Light impression just blends in with off white back ground of paper. Therefore difficult to read for senior citizens like me.
