Blind Spots in Pakistan's History - Asim Imdad Ali
Blind Spots in Pakistan's History - Asim Imdad Ali
This book narrates some of the enduring fallacies and flawed philosophies (blind spots) of our elites that prevent us from joining virtuous cycles of growth and development. The book does not restrict itself to being a catalog of political follies and historical fallacies but also offers multiple solutions that could help reinvigorate our fast-eroding cultural and political commons and possibly reverse the engulfing tide of social entropy.

The book is based on thoughts and not supported by data or direct references. It relies more on classical quotes, which have less relevance to our system and conditions. I was expecting that the book would lay specific path to the issues and their optimistic remedies; thus giving hope on how to move forward. However, it fails to entice the reader and rather takes the reader on a tangential thoughts process as the book is loaded with Shakespearean quotes. The writer based on his experience as a civil servant and now in the corporate world, is cautious in choosing his words and unable to share how he really feels. Without any prejudice, Pakistan writers lack the art of compiling literary work in manner to capture the topic at hand and express their views in a clear manner. The book is not worth spending 2200rs!
