Description
The work is Iqbal’s first philosophical attempt. It also presents the first historical account of Persia’s philosophical thought. The object of this work, according to the author, is to prepare a groundwork for a future history of Persian Metaphysics. Iqbal has endeavored to trace the logical continuity of Persian thought, in the language of modern philosophy and he has discussed the subject of Sufism in a more scientific manner and has attempted to bring out the intellectual conditions which necessitated such a phenomenon. Muhammad Iqbal was a poet and philosopher, and without any hint of doubt, one of the most crucial figures in the history of South Asia.
