منتشر صورتیں موجود تھیں۔ ترقی پسند تنقید میں استعماریت کے سیاسی ومعاشی استحصال اور روایت پسند تنقید میں اس کے تہذیبی استحصال پر بحثیں ملتی ہیں اور ان میں سے کچھ آج بھی کارآمد ہیں۔ اسی طرح کچھ لوگ فرانز فینن، ایمی سیزارے ،ایڈورڈ سعید اور کچھ دوسرے پوسٹ کولونیل مفکرین کے کام سے بھی واقف تھے ۔بعض نے اقبال احمد کی تحریروںکامطالعہ کررکھا تھا۔سیاہ فاموںاور دلتوں کے ادب پر بھی ،اردو میں قابل ذکر کام ہوچکا تھا۔انیسویں صدی کے بعض اہم ادیبوں کی تحریروں پر نو آبادیاتی اثرات کی تلاش چند مقالات میں مل جاتی ہے۔ علاوہ ازیں بیسویں صدی کے اواخر اور اکیسویں صدی کے اوائل میں ہونے والے تھیوری کے مباحث میں ، مابعد نوآبادیات پر بھی کچھ نہ کچھ بحث شامل ہوتی۔ اس سب کے باوجود اردوادب میں مابعد نوآبادیاتی تنقید ، ایک منظم ومربوط روایت کے طورپر قائم نہیں ہوسکی تھی۔ اشارات تھے اور منتشر تھے۔ اس موضوع پر کوئی ایک مفصل کتاب موجود نہیں تھی۔\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"font-family: 'noto nastaliq urdu'; line-height: 2em; text-align: right;\"\u003eیہ سوال اٹھایا جاسکتا ہے کہ ۱۹۴۷ء میں برطانوی استعمار سے سیاسی آزادی کے فوری بعد ہم نے اپنے تعلیمی ، آئینی، انتظامی اداروں اور زبان وادب اور ثقافتی شعبوں کو استعماری اثرات سے آزاد کرانے یعنیDecolonization کی ہمہ گیر مساعی کیوں نہیں کیں؟ آزادی کی بعد کی تحریروں میں راج ، نو آبادیات، غلامی، آزادی کی تحریک اوراس کے قائدین کا ذکر تو کثرت سے ملتا ہے؛ آزادی کی صبح کے اجالے کے داغ داغ ہونے کا نوحہ بھی ملتا ہے؛ ثقافتی شناخت کے تعین کی سعی بھی ملتی ہے؛ادب کی پاکستانی شناخت کا سوال بھی ملتا ہےنیز جس استعمار سے آزادی کے لیے جدوجہد کی گئی، اس استعمار کے معاشی، ثقافتی استحصال کی نشان دہی منتشر صورت میں ملتی ہے ،مگر جن اداروں اور تصورات کے تحت یہ استحصال ممکن ہوا، ان پر کوئی باقاعدہ اور مسلسل ڈسکورس نہیں ملتا ہے۔دو ایک اردو نقادوں نے مغربی ادبی کینن کے غلبے کی طرف اشارہ ضرور کیا اور اس کی جگہ عرب و عجم یا مقامی صوفیانہ روایت کی طرف توجہ کرنے کے ضرورت کا احساس ضرور دلایا مگر استعماری اجاراہ دارانہ روشوں اور تصورات اور ہیئتوںسے نجات کی باقاعدہ عظیم تنقیدی کوشش نظر نہیں آتی۔ اس ڈسکورس کے غیر موجودگی آج ہمیں زیادہ محسوس ہوتی ہے اور کئی سوالات جنم دیتی ہے۔ کیا اس لیے کہ ہماری سیاسی مقتدرہ نے ایک مذہبی ریاست کی تعمیر کو اپنا بنیادی مقصد بنایا اور مذہبی ریاست کا وہ تصور قبول کیا، جسے ایک ’غیر ‘(the other) یعنی ہندو کے مقابلے میں وضع کیا گیا تھا؟ کیا اسی لیے آزادی کے بعد ، ہم نے اپنے ہر شعبہ ء زندگی بہ شمول زبان اور جملہ فنون کو ہندووانہ عناصر سے پاک کرنے کی کوشش کی؟ کیوں اپنے ہرشعبہ ء زندگی کو استعماری اثرات سے آزاد کرانے کے بجائے،ہم اسی استعماری عہد میں ایجاد ہونے والے دشمن کے بھوت کو ٹھکانے لگانے کی کوششوں میں مصروف رہے؟ آج ہمارے لیے یہ ایک سنجیدہ سوال ہے کہ کیوں ہماری دانشورانہ وتخلیقی سرگرمیوں کا رخ یا تو اپنی ذہنی وتخیلی دنیا کو مذکورہ’ غیر‘ سے ’پاک کرنے ‘ کی طرف رہا (منٹو کا آزادی کے فوری بعد لکھا ہوا ’اللہ کا بڑا فضل ہے‘ یاد کیجیے)یا پھر ہجرت وبے دخلی (displacement) کو بیان کرنے اور اس کی تاریخی، مذہبی جڑیں تلاش کرنے اور گزرے زمانوں کے احیاو بازیافت کی جانب رہا؟ کیا تاریخ نے ہمارے سامنے کوئی دوسرا راستہ نہیں چھوڑا تھا ؟ بچی کچھی توانائی آمریتوں کے خلاف جھگڑنے میں صرف ہوئی۔\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"font-family: 'noto nastaliq urdu'; line-height: 2em; text-align: right;\"\u003eبنیادی سوال یہ ہے کہ جو کچھ سنتالیس اور اس کے فوری بعد رونما ہوا ،یہ سب اتفاق تھا یا ایک تاریخی عمل کے تحت ہوا تھا؟ جس دنیا کو ہمیں بھوگنے پر مجبور کیا گیا، اس کا نقشہ کس نے کہاں ترتیب دیاتھا؟ اجتماعی زندگی کے واقعات اتفاقی ، تاریخی اسباب کے تحت ہوتے ہیں۔ جس (استعماری)تاریخ نے ہماری تشکیل کی تھی اور جس کے خلاف ہم نے باقاعدہ جدوجہد کی، اس کے اثرات کی تفہیم اوران اثرات سے آزادی کی سعی کیوں نہیں کی گئی ؟ سنتالیس کے فسادات، جنوبی ایشیا ہی نہیں، انسانی تاریخ کے بڑے المیوں میں شامل ہیں۔ آخر یہ المیہ پہلے کیوں رونما نہیں ہوا تھا؟ قومی ومذہبی شناخت کا انسانی شناخت سے مقدس تصور کیا جانا سمجھ میں آسکتا ہے مگر برصغیر کی تاریخ میں مقدس شناخت مہلک کیوں بن گئی، یہ کون سمجھائے گا؟ ہمارا ادب جو کلاسیکی عہد میں قومی ومذہبی شناخت کے مہلک پن کو اجاگر کرتا رہا تھا ، اسی ادب کا بڑا حصہ خود اس شناخت کی تشکیل ، توثیق، استقرار اور جواز کے لیے کیوں آگے آیا؟آزادی کے بعد کی اردو تنقید میں کلاسیکی عہد کو ہنداسلامی تہذیب کا نام دیا گیا اور دل چسپ بات یہ ہے کہ اس کی بازیافت کی سعی بھی کی گئی مگر صرف لفظی سطح پر، تصوری اور اقداری سطحوں پر نہیں ۔ کیوں؟ ہنداسلامی تہذیب کا نام دے کر اس میں یا تو محض ایک مذہب کے اساسی تصور کی ترجمانی پر مبنی تحریروں کو سامنے لایا گیا، یا پھر مضمون، معنی ، رعایت ، مناسبت ، روانی اور دوسری صنعتوں کی دریافت پر اپنی ساری تنقیدی ذہانت صرف کی گئی۔ ہنداسلامی تہذیب کے پیدا کردہ اردو ادب (خصوصاً غزل میں)میں مذہبی سماجی مقتدرہ کی ریاکاری کو جس طورطنز کا نشانہ بنایا گیا تھا ،عشق کو اعلیٰ انسانی قدر کے طور پر پیش کیا گیا ا ور جس وحشت کی مدد سے انسانی باطن کی آزادی اور اس آزادی کے ذریعے تقدیر اور فطرت سے الجھنے کا اظہار کیا گیا تھا، ان کو اہمیت کی شاید ہی محسوس کیا گیا ہو اور ان کی بازیافت کی شاید ہی کوشش کی گئی ہو۔\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"font-family: 'noto nastaliq urdu'; line-height: 2em; text-align: right;\"\u003eحقیقت یہ ہے کہ استعماری عہد میں تشکیل پانے والا قومیت کا استثنائی تصور(جو ہمیشہ ایک ’غیر‘ کے مقابل خود کو واضح کرتا ہے)، ماضی کی تفہیم سے لے کر حال کے تجربوں کے اظہار پر آسیب بن کر چھایا رہا ہے۔ پاکستانی تہذیب کے جملہ مباحث بھی اسی تصور سے اتفاق، اختلاف یا فاصلہ اختیار کرنے کے نتیجے میں ظاہر ہوتے ہیں۔ گزشتہ چھہتر برسوں کی دانشورانہ اور تخلیقی سرگرمیوں کی تہ میں اسی تصور سے مسلسل گفت وشنود(negotiation) ملاحظہ کی جاسکتی ہے۔ کیا ہم اس گفت وشنود سے آگے بڑھ سکتے ہیں؟ میرا خیال ہے اس وقت، جب ہم واقعی ردّاستعماریت کی مہم طے کر لیں گے،یعنی استعماریت کا صحیح علم اور اس کی تشکیلات سے نجات۔ وہ تشکیلات جو ہماری ادبی تاریخ نویسی ہی نہیں، ہمارے عمومی تصورات ،معیارات اور اقدار میں سرایت کیے ہوئے ہیں ۔ آج بھی ہمارا سامنا ایسے لوگوں سے ہوتا ہے جو گورے کو اس دھرتی کی تاریخ کا سب سے بڑا محسن کہتے ہیں۔وہ جدید ٹیکنالوجی اور تعلیمی و انتظامی اداروں کی مثالوں کا حوالہ دیتے ہیں۔ حقیقت یہ ہےکہ گورے استعمار کی سب سے بڑی کامیابی بھی یہی ہے کہ اس نے اس دھرتی کا ہمہ گیر استحصال کیا، اس کے سماجی تانے بانے کو ادھیڑ دیا، یہاں تنازعات کے ایک طویل سلسلے کی بنیاد رکھی ، قحطوں ،فسادات میں یہاں کے لوگوں کی نسل کشی کی ،پھر بھی خود کو محسن کے طور پر باور کراگیا۔ جہاں تک ریل ، تار اور باقی چیزوں کا تعلق ہے، وہ سائنسی ایجادات ہیں جنھیں خود اپنی بقا کی خا طر دنیا بھر میں پہنچنا ہوتا ہے۔ جلد یا بدیر۔ پھر اصل سوال یہ ہے کہ اس ٹیکنالوجی نے مقامی ہندوستانیوں کو کتنا فائدہ دیا اور خود انگریزوں کو کس قدر ؟ ریل مقامی لوگوں کے لیے کس قدر سفر میں آسانی کا وسیلہ بنی اور برطانوی صنعتوں کے لیے خام مال اور فوجیوں کو سرعت سے دوردراز جگہوں پر پہنچانے کا ذریعہ کس حد تک بنی؟ ایک سادہ سوال یہ بھی ہے کہ اگر وہ واقعی محسن تھے تو ان کے خلاف آزادی کی تحریک چلانے والے ہمارے قائدین سے یہ بات کیوں اوجھل رہی؟ آخری بات یہ کہ نو آبادیاتی جدیدیت اور جدیدیت میں فرق ہے ۔اس فرق کو بھلانے سے کئی غلط فہمیاں پیدا ہوتی line-height: 2em; text-align: right;\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e    اس کتاب کی ایک خوبی یہ بھی ہے کہ آپ کو اس میں بہت سے اولیائے کرام کی سوانح حیات پہلی مرتبہ پڑھنے کو ملیں گی کہ گزشتہ چار عشروں میں ملتان کے اولیائے کرام پر جو کتب شائع ہوئیں ان میں بہت سارے اولیائے کرام کی سوانح موجود نہیں تھی۔ اس سلسلے میں اولاد علی گیلانی کی کتاب ’’اولیائے ملتان‘‘ سے مَیں نے یوں استفادہ کیا کہ وہ بزرگ جن کا ذکر اب تاریخِ ملتان کی کسی کتاب میں نہیں ملتا مَیں نے اُن اولیائے کرام کے ابواب کو شامل کیا ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ ڈاکٹر زاہد علی واسطی جب روزنامہ نوائے وقت ملتان کے ’’روہی رنگ ایڈیشن‘‘ میں ’’دیکھ لیا ملتان‘‘ کے نام سے قسط وار کتاب لکھ رہے تھے تو پڑھنے والوں کو اندازہ نہیں تھا کہ ہر وقت سرکاری ملازمت میں مصروف رہنے والے ملتان کی محبت میں ایک شاندار تاریخ لکھ رہے ہیں۔ وہ اقساط بعد میں ’’دیکھ لیا ملتان‘‘ کی شکل میں کتابی صورت میں شائع ہوئیں تو دیکھتے ہی دیکھتے اس کے کئی ایڈیشن شائع ہو گئے۔ ان کے انتقال کے بعد ’’دیکھ لیا ملتان‘‘ کا نام تبدیل کر کے پبلشر نے نئی کتاب شائع کی تو وہ کتاب بھی آج کل مارکیٹ سے غائب ہے۔ جن دنوں میری کتاب ’’ملتان عکس و تحریر‘‘ شائع ہوئی اُنہی دنوں نامور سفرنامہ نگار، دانشور اور تاریخ دان محمد داؤد طاہر کی کتاب ’’ارمغانِ ملتان‘‘ بھی منظرِ عام پر آئی۔ انہوں نے بھی اپنی کتاب کے چند ابواب میں آثارِ قدیمہ پر قلم اٹھایا لیکن بہت سے آثارِ قدیمہ ایسے تھے جن کو مضمون کی صورت محفوظ کرنا ضروری تھا۔ سو اس کتاب کی شکل میں ہم نے کوشش کی ہے کہ ہم آپ کو ملتان قدیم و جدید کی سیر تصاویر اور تحریر کے ذریعے کروا دیں۔ اگرچہ ابھی بھی بہت سی عمارتیں اور ادارے ایسے ہیں جن پر لکھا جا سکتا ہے وہ موضوعات ہم آنے والے مؤرخین پر چھوڑتے ہیں تاکہ وہ اپنے انداز سے ملتان کی تاریخ، ثقافت، ادب، آثار پر روشنی ڈال سکیں۔\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"font-family: 'noto nastaliq urdu';
